A central pair of gates provide vehicle access, while two side gates are for pedestrians. All these gates are supported by four large concrete gate posts. The two central ones have large, elegant lamps on top to light the entrance.

The actual gates aren't the finest, a little plain, but in the grand setting of the wide entrance, they gain a fair bit of distinction. You'd know you were arriving somewhere important if you turned in here!

Oxley is an interesting company:
"We have accomplished a lot as a result of the inspiration of the the man who founded the Company - R F Oxley. In a life rich with innovation and creativity, Freddy Oxley eventually had over 150 patents to his name.

From the beginning, he was deeply involved with the radar industry - pushing the boundaries of thought at that time. On the instructions of the UK Ministry of Aircraft Production the whole operation was moved to the North of England, to Ulverston in 1942.

Freddy Oxley, an influential man with a will to succeed, realised that he needed to develop a working team of creative minds who were actively encouraged to look at innovative ways in which to improve and adapt products. This attitude to innovation, quality and manufacturing excellence has always been at the heart of the Company's success." See: (visit link)

The everyday entrance to Priory Park is up the side road by the golf course. These gates are saved for arrival at the front house. They are, of course, electronically operated.
