The Victoria has improved a lot since I used to live in the area. Now there's a large selection of excellent hand-pulled beers - including local specialities - and the food is superb. Expect a good range of Mediterranean-style dishes.

Although the rooms are narrow due to the style of building, they are cosy and interesting. A bar with a couple of tables leads through to a larger room where you can eat or just drink. Then there's a small restaurant room. Outside, there's a good canopied and heated patio with plenty of tables.

Live music on Sunday and Monday nights - but check, as this is not all year round.
