Black Combe stands at 1970 feet and is one of Wainwrights Outlying Fells of Lakeland.
The trigpoint is sited exactly at the summit and is surrounded by a stone built shelter about 3 feet high and offers some protection from the wind and like most summits it is a good place to have a cup of Tea and take in the view,which on a clear can be extensive.
Wordsworth said of the view.
"The amplest range of unobstructed prospect may be seen that British ground commands"
