The Westmorland Centre has two main entrances, one off the high street opposite the library, the other from the market place, on a higher level. Inside the centre is on two floors. It has an indoor market hall which has a wide variety of stalls.
The centre also has an entrance from the multi-storey car park at the rear, and also leads to the bus station. Shops include Waterstones, Thomas Cook, florists, stationery, Argos, Body Shop, records, electrical goods and others. It also has a cafe and toilets.
