The Dock Museum is a maritime museum charting the history of the Barrow area, which was closely associated with the large engineering works of Vickers Ship Building, now BAE Systems, who made everything from liners to nuclear subs.

The museum is uniquely housed in an old graving dock. Outside are various other exhibits and a great playground. The Walney Channel is alongside the old docks here. As part of the museum three old anchors are on display by the side of the dock. Not the largest, but well worth visiting especially when combined with the Dock Museum. A great nautical day out!
