An artfully altered sign! Although it's not official, it's been warning drivers for over 18 months!

This can be found on the A590 on the way out of Barrow, just after the start of the 40mph limit.

I like this sign for both the humour and the quality of the alteration. I suppose one day the highways authority will get round to changing it, but it's been there for nearly two years at least.

Since the expansion of the industry and the building of the new A590 'ring road' local farming practices have changed and I've never seen any cows crossing this busy trunk route. I think it would be a bit of a shock to most Barrovians to find a herd of cows crossing here one morning. Especially if they were being ridden!
