Cream and green gates into a courtyard. They have a shepherd's crook motif to the curled ends, top and bottom, plus some fancy curls at the top. On top of the building is a sheep dog and farmer weather vane.

A respectable pair of gates with an air of distinction about them. The owner of the property presumably has a farming connection as the weather vane includes an obvious shepherd's crook and sheepdog. The crook theme is carried through into the design of the gate - pairs of crooks tied together by the green bars. These gates have a nice symmetry with some serious curly bits at the top/middle. To bump up the distinction levels even further, they are also automatic opening gates! No getting out of your car to open these.

They are part of an old cottage/farm. It is easily found on the main A6 road north of the town, opposite where Helm Lane joins. Be careful how you stop on this fast 'clearway'.

This is a private house, so please ensure you do not disturb anyone when visiting.
