Cumbria County Council provide 53 libraries around the county plus have a fleet of mobile library-vans serving the rural communities. All libraries have internet access, most have specific audio depts, children's collections and local information. The librarians are generally very helpful. Most also have reading groups and other activities taking place regularly.
Ulverston library is not the largest in the county and is in a fairly uninspiring building, but it has good sofas for reading the papers on, coffee is available and it is a light and welcoming place. Lots of useful local information.
