This is unlikely to win any awards and during the winter it can look rather bare, but the Council contractors do their best to plant up the beds in the spring and nurse the roses into bloom.
It's been a few years since the rose garden was improved but it's mostly still going strong with raised flower beds, a decorative fish lamp, metal benches and a featured piece of agricultural machinery planted with flowers.
The area is busy with buses coming and going and a long established kiosk serves food and drink for waiting passengers and others. Across the road is the library which has daily newspapers and good sofas! The area is wheelchair accessible. Parking can be found in the nearby streets.
The area was improved in 1995/6 by South Lakeland District Council.
