Dupath Holy Well was built by the Monks of St Germans around the year 1510.
It is thought to be the best and largest of its kind in Cornwall.
It would have served as a baptistery and oratory and contains the remains of a bath used for immersion. It was once believed that the spring water feeding the bath was a cure for Whooping Cough.
The access to the well is through Dupath farm and a short walk from the road.
The well was partly restored during the 19th century by the Reverend HM Rice, the rector of South Hill and Callington.
The structure is a grade 1 listed scheduled monument under the management of the Cornwall Heritage Trust.
