This historical structure still stands today and is located on Main Street between Church Street and Boonton Avenue. It was built in 1894 and housed the original 2 sections of the Boonton Fire Department: The Hook & Ladder section and the Bucket Section.

This is from a local 1894 newspaper: "One would have to go a long distance to find a more substantial and beautiful fireman's headquarters than the one owned by the Town of Boonton, and known as the Maxfield Engine House. It attracts the attention of strangers, and no longer heard the remark, "Boonton is way behind other places in arrangements for extinguishing fires." Through the front can be seen the beautiful hand engine, hose carriage, hook and ladder and other apparatus ready for use if an alarm should be heard."

Current Use: Storefront, currently a children's botique

Year Originally Built: 1894

Is it open to the public?: Yes, to store customers

Location: Boonton

Year Retired: Not listed
