Very little evidence remains of this burial ground except a plaque on the wall and two disintegrating gravestones. It is an utterly simple place, the simplest I've visited in South Lakeland. It has a certain poignancy, however.

Nearest access is from N54° 16.275 W002° 42.785, which is a small lay-by on the A65 Kendal-Endmoor road. A bridleway through a wood leads to the site, but you need to look out for stone step stile to cross the wall 50m BEFORE reaching the site. Please do not climb over the wall anywhere else other than the steps.

The burial ground is extremely simple - just two walls extending into the field to make a square enclosure in the corner. A small gap allows access on the west side.

A plaque is inside on the north wall, but no other obvious signs exist. No headstones are here so perhaps it was in use sometime around 1717-1850 when Quakers decided not to use headstones at all and so avoid any 'vain monuments'.

In the SE corner are the remains of two gravestones, although they are not like the 'usual' Quaker headstones. Details are very hard to make out.

Cattle and sheep keep the grass down, as well as making the area muddy at times. It is a strange place, slightly bleak in its simplicity - who were the anonymous people who were buried here?
