The bridge is dated 1883 and was built then to provide a crossing for traffic. It is still used to this day by the traffic coming in and out of Riseley and has no weight restriction. There is a river gauge next to the bridge which is regularly in use as the brook fills up with the rainfall. Riseley Brook is a tributary to the River Kym which runs through Kimbolton. Also, there is a Level Station containing essential equipment for monitoring the water level and some metal steps leading down into the brook.
It is possible to park next to the bridge on the grass verge but please be careful as the road does narrow to single track across the bridge and the traffic passes frequently and quickly.
