 Clean Water at the American River
To keep Folsom Lake and consequently Sacramento's drinking water clean, the city has provided a couple of floating outhouses and one can be seen when hiking along the American River near Folsom. There is at least one other one serving scuba divers on Folsom Lake. We found this location while searching for a nearby geocache. The coordinates in the middle of the river are an approximation based on bearing and distance from the closest point at the shore. This shore location is

Unfortunately, we can only provide pictures from a distance since the water was a little bit too cold to swim over, but something as rare as a privy in the middle of California's largest river sure deserves a waymark.
