This lighthouse built soley as a Landmark and a Tourist attraction is open to the public as an Observation Tower. Cochin Lighthouse is a hexagonal wooden structure that is a mere 38ft high but sits on the top of Pirot hill that involves a climb of 153 steps. Jackfish Lake itself is nothing more than a large slough whos deepest point is hard pressed to exceed 10 ft - although some boating and fishing does occur on this lake.
