This painted milestone is on the A4 road in Thatcham.

The A4 was formerly the main route West from London, but with the construction of the M4, no longer carries long distance traffic.

This is a "listed building" English Heritage Building ID: 39600 For more info see British Listed Buildings which lists the date of the milestone as late C18.

The paintwork is in a rather sorry state, especially considering its "listed" status.
