Beacon Fell stands at just under a thousand feet but has great appeal to mountain walkers, for it's approach from Coniston lake side is rich and varied, and once the top is gained from say an hour and a half's walking it is a place to relax and sit in the comfort of heather taking in the magnificent view of the Coniston Fells, and many more surrounding Mountains,it is indeed a great place for playing at identifying the distant mountains and putting names to them.
A full length view of Coniston Water can also be enjoyed from the summit, and looking S. is Morecambe Bay.
Altitude in Feet: 836
