Shawnee, Kansas has their Police and Fire departments in the same building. In that same spirit, the Protector's Memorial honors both Police and Fire personnel that have fallen in the Line of Duty. This bronze sculpture is right in front of the flagpoles for the building.
Currently, the Memorial lists the name of Donald Gamblin, Jr., a police officer who was killed while conducting a traffic stop at 9:30am. Officer Gamblin was a 12year veteran of the force with a wife and four children.
