The church is a relatively young church for the United Kingdom dating from 1900. Cardington village was home to Samuel Whitbread, a famous brewer who made millions from his beer. He kindly donated various items to the church and village, including a clock, school and houses.

The weathervane appears to depict a leaf or feather and can be seen atop the tower for some distance away. The tower is ornate and stonework very interesting.
