The Memorial of Latin America is a complex, designed by Niemeyer to showcase the art and culture of Latin America.

The hall was named after Brazilian Tiradentes, who was part Brazilian seditious movement known as the Inconfidência Mineira.

The humped building is about 30 meters high. It's known as the "profane cathedral" shelters the most important work of Cândido Portinari, the Tiradentes Panel (1948) that measures 18,00 x 3,00 m. Besides Portinari's piece are panels by artists Caribé e Poty.
