The Buffalo Bill Museum is one of the Denver area’s most popular attractions. Focusing on the life and times of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, the Museum illustrates how Cody was a “visionary” of his time, one of the forerunners of Native American and Women’s rights as well as wildlife conservation. The site features exhibits about Cody, the evolution of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West, Native Americans, Firearms, and Cowboys. There is also a 15 minute introductory video, dress up areas, and a changing exhibit gallery. Unlike many museums, photographs ARE allowed - even encourage - in this building.
The Buffalo Bill Museum site includes this building, the original museum building (Pahaska Tepee, now a gift shop/café), the gravesite, an observation area and a shaded picnic grounds. Over 400,000 visitors travel to the site every year. Of these, approximately 60,000 pay the additional admission to enter the Museum, itself (an investment well spent!)
