Although the peaks in Australia are smaller than those overseas, it's still an effort to climb them. You should allow approximately one day of hiking to get to the top and back to your camp.
The peak often gets snow in the winter, and the weather can change (get somewhat ugly) during summer without much warning. Therefore you should take appropriate clothing and provisions.
