Wilson Bro's. Wholesale Grocers. grew out of another business. In 1862 William Wilson came to the west coast of Canada and started W & J Wilson clothing company. A family business that operates to this day on Government Street and is reputed to be the oldest family owned specialty clothing store in Canada.
In 1900 the Clothing company was at 83 Government Street and the Wholesale grocers operated from 76 Wharf street according to the 1901 Victoria census.
There is no record of the grocer still operating today.
