The Lakota Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of two treatment plants belonging to the Lakehaven Utilities District. The district encompasses an area of approximately 35 square miles with a service population of approximately 112,000 people. Seventy-five percent of the service is to single family residential dwellings.
According to Lakehaven's Website "the sewer system includes 350 miles of mainline, 27 pump stations and two secondary wastewater treatment plants."
Treated wastewater is piped approximately 1000 feet offshore into the Puget Sound.

Describe the biological treatment technology used.: According to Lakehaven the "treatment train consists of prechlorination, manually cleaned bar screen, grit removal,
comminutors, primary clarification, trickling filters, secondary clarification, and UV disinfection."
