665th Calumet Air Force Station - Abandoned Air Force Radar Sites on Waymarking.com

The 665th Calumet Air Force Station was operational 1950 - 1988. The support base was K.I. Sawyer AFB. Early equipment FPS-5; FPS-3/-20/-64; FPS-27; FPS-26A; FPS-6/-90 Later equipment FPS-27; FPS-26A. FPS-91A; FPS-116 (JSS). BUIC III The site was used as a youth correctional facility, the Keweenaw Academy for awhile after closing.

Note: The area is fenced off and you must get permission to enter. We were able to get access during our 665th reunion Aug 2008. I was told you might be able to get access if you call the Keweenaw County Sheriff.
