Movie Tavern is the first of its kind in central Ohio. This theater was originally a Cinemark theater, however Movie Tavern purchased it, converted it, and reopened in May 2007. About 1.8 million was spent on the restoration. In the process, one of the rooms were turned into the kitchen, so it now sports 11 screens, instead of the 12 that the Cinemark had.

Movie Tavern was started in 1998 in Ft. Worth, TX and currently has 11 theaters throughout the U.S. They plan to expand to 23 locations by the end of 2008.
