Cream O' Galloway at Rainton Farm is a full day out with plenty to do. See website for opening times and facilities. Not open all year. Signed from A75 main road, about 15 minutes each way (roads are narrow). When you get to Rainton turn up the surfaced track to the farm on small hill.
In the main building are the cafe and the shop. Cafe does food and drink as well as cakes and ice creams. A particularly appealing sundae had lots of chocolate on it. Check menu board for inspiration. Milk shakes and plain ice cream also available.
The shop side has many flavours of oragnic ice cream to scoop on to cones or in tubs. Frozen yoghurts also. With other displays taken up with other local produce. Larger tubs to take away are available, sold in 500 ml, 1, 4, 5 litre cartons. These tubs are sold throughout the UK.
