A lovely colour of local granite. In 1864, the town gained its civic independence from Urr Parish, and built a small Town Hall as a combination of public meeting hall and council offices. The current Town Hall was built in the 1880s.

Monument to Lieutenant William McMaster Murdoch, Royal Naval Reserve, on Dalbeattie Town Hall. (visit link)
