Gilchrist's was one of the major department stores in downtown Boston, at the corner of Washington and Winter Streets, directly opposite the old Filene's building and corner to old Jordan's (now Macy's). Gilchrist's lasted until about 1975. Now The Corner Mall occupies the bottom floor of the building.
There are two different kinds on this building: one set a few floors up and another at the top.
