This beach is perfect for escaping large crowds. It is a beautiful spot for sunrise with the Tybee Lighthouse right behind you. There is a jettie just down the beach so watch your kids near it and with the tide, but up towards the access point it is calm and relaxing with an occassional great wave to use the boogie board on. You can see the ships going by in the Shipping Canal and you can also watch the shrimp boats come in and go out. Another super bonus is dolphins frequent this area (one even surprised my husband). The parking lot is near a little restaurant and restrooms but you have to cross the parking lot to access them.
