The Bel-Air Drive-In Theatre like so many others, no longer exists.

The grand opening for the Bel-Air was held on Fri, April 28th 1950. The Calhoun High School Band gave a performance along with several other guest speakers from Martin Theatres. The first movie was "The Big Cat" adult admission was 40 cents and could accommodate 356 cars.
In September of 1960 movie goers were entertained with a special treat "The Flat & Scruggs Show" from The Grand Ole Opry performed live Bluegrass music along with a feature movie.
During the 70's they started showing more R rated films as did many other drive-ins at this time. The Bel-Air closed in may of 1977. It was damaged by high winds and the decision was made to sell it rather then reopen it. A picture in The Calhoun Times dated May 11, 1977 shows the damage to the screen. You can see it in the images for this drive-in.
