The Central Burying Ground is located on Boston Common in Boston and was a paupers cemetery in the 1700 and early 1800s, and included graves for British Army soldiers and famed artist Gilbert Stuart.

A lesser known cemetery in Boston is the Central Burying Ground, located at the southeastern corner of Boston Common next to the Boylston T Station.
People were buried in the cemetery from 1755 to at least the mid 1800s.
The number of graves is in the thousands, but I have not been able to find out an approximate number. A specific number is likely undeterminable, since many of the graves were unmarked. In fact, one web site stated that when they dug the tunnel for the new subway between Park Street and Boylston Street stations, they uncovered about 900 remains, which were reburied. Also, many of the British soldiers were buried here in the Battle of Bunker Hill.
When I have been by the gates have been closed. I'm not sure if there are any specific visiting hours.
