Beginning in 1983 as a small neighborhood meeting place with only 12 tables and a single bar, Ragtime has since grown into one of Jacksonville's hottest spots. Ragtime Tavern offers three unique settings for dining, gathering of friends, or enjoying one of their freshly brewed beers (visit link).
Hand crafted and brewed to perfection, Ragtime Tavern goes to great lengths in serving each guest the freshest beer possible. This commitment to serving nothing but the finest and freshest beer possible has led to numerous awards.
Information on their beers:
DOLPHIN’S BREATH LAGER - the lightest beer in color and body in their lineup, Dolphin’s Breath Lager is a refreshing beer and a true American lager. Liberty hops add to its all-around great taste.
RED BRICK ALE - Red Brick is a red ale that combines a deep, malty flavor from their American Crystal malt, which is balanced by the citrus-like flavor of American Cascade hops. A true American red ale, Red Brick is the favorite of regulars and staff alike.
A. STRANGE STOUT - this opaque black stout has a full-bodied mouthfeel. A. Strange Stout is boldly aggressive with a mixture of
roasted and caramel flavors stemming from rich UK malt. This drinkable, dark ale gets its name from the founders’ grandfather: Alexander Strange.
WESTBURY WHEAT - light in color yet possessing a full-bodied flavor, this is a traditional pale ale with a unique addition of American Perle hops which impart a truly smooth and flavorful finish.
SWEET MAGNOLIA BROWN ALE - medium-bodied, brown in color with a floral hop aroma created by Mt. Hood hops. Crystal and Chocolate malts from the UK render a sweet, malty flavor. Gold medal in the 1998 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
