When I visited Waimea Bay in 2006 and there were some nice 5 to 6 foot waves and surfers were out having fun. This year the weather was calmer and there were no suring sized waves, but lots of swimmers. The parking lot was so full we decided to go elsewhere, but I got the photo of the sign and marked the coordinates as we left. I got a nice shot of the bay a few days later while driving by again.
I guess during the winter the waves can be 20 feet high here, now that would be something to see!
