Manufacturer: American Locomotive Company (ALCO), Manchester, NH
Type: Six-wheeled steam switcher
Weight: 74 tons
Use: Switchers of this type were often used by B&M to shuttle between industrial factories such as the Lowell textile mills. B&M used this switcher for almost four decades before it was sold to H.E.Fletcher where it was used in his quarry in Westford until 1979. It languished for a while until in 1993 it was moved to Lowell, MA, where both the National Park Service and the Boston and Maine Historical Society have cosmetically restored it for display.
