The Archaeological Museum of Cordoba is a state museum managed by the Junta de Andalucia's Regional Culture Ministry and is located in the Renaissance palace that used to be the seat of the Paez de Castillejo family.

The museum has exhibits on Cordoba's prehistory beginning with the Lower Paleolithic period, the protohistorical Iberian Culture, Visigothic and Moorish history.
But objects from the Roman period constitute the museum's largest and most varied collection with a large number of pieces from Corduba, capital of the Roman province of Baetica which was a political and cultural centre of the first order.
Objects of particular note are :
Zoomorphic sculptures of the Iberian Culture
The Roman sculptures of Aphrodite, Mithra, and Fortuna.
The Hermaphrodite from the El Ruedo Roman Villa
Several interesting Roman mosaics
The in-situ remains of a Roman public area adjacent to the city's theater
The Islamic period Botella de los Musicos.
