While not primarily a breakfast spot, this restaurant inside Union Station does serve a good breakfast. And it’s one of the few options in the area aside from the over-priced hotel breakfasts.

This is a strange little spot. You can eat breakfast while listening to the loud drunks at the bar. The occasional panhandler wanders through, grabbing food off of your plate if you’re not paying attention. But that’s DC.

Breakfast here is reasonably priced and good. The hashbrowns - barely fried potatoes and sweet onions with lots of butter - are awesome. And the omelettes (I tried one stuffed with Chesapeake Blue Crab) are huge. Each one must be at least four eggs. The only downside is the place doesn’t open until 9am. But it's right above the Union Station Metro Station, chances are you're traveling, and most museums don't open until 10.

Signature Dish: Hashbrowns.

Breakfast Hours: From: 9:00 AM To: 12:00 PM

Average Wait for a Table (Weekends): Now wait.

Non-Smoking?: yes
