This chapel dedicated to SS George and Thomas A’Becket and was built C1490 by Sir Richard Edgecumbe as a thanks offering for his preservation from his enemies from whom he escaped from this spot in the year 1483.
The chapel is empty, visitors have full access at all times, the chapel is situated on the Cotehele Estate which is in the hands of the National Trust, there is an entrance fee to see the house and gardens, but not the chapel as it’s situated in woodland on the estate.
