Former Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa was at one of his favorite restaurants, the Red Fox, to meet Detroit mobster Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone and New Jersey labor leader Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano, a made member of the Genovese crime family for a "sit down", presumably to work out differences in how the union would be run. Hoffa was picked up in a car owned by Joe Giacalone, the son of Anthony Giacalone, and dat, as they say, was da end of dat.
There have been many theories about exactly who killed Jimmy Hoffa, but none are conclusive. There have been even more theories as to where his body lies, including Giant's Football stadium, a gravel pit, a Florida swamp, a swimming pool foundation, a car crusher, and even a fat rendering plant.
