Located o the outer banks of North Carolina, the Wright Brothers Memorial is a tribute to the first people who developed a sustained aerial flight vehicle in 1903. The memorial is located on top of a sandy hill and is the highest point in Kill Devil Hills. The memorial was dedicated in 1932. The door has several markings resembling many different aspects of flight.
You must pay to enter the national park. You can then walk freely around the grounds or enter the museum. Occasionally people are allowed to go to the top of the memorial, but it is rare. Just inside the doors of the memorial is an inscription on the wall.
