It is conceived as a viewpoint over the city. Each floor has archaeological remains and historic pieces, which allow the visitor to travel around the history of the city up to the top floor, from where a wonderful view of the city can be seen and the places to which the exhibited objects make reference can be localized.
The contents are distributed in an ascending order into six floors, in which are shown the materials from the origings of the city, with the archaeological remains found in the tower subsoil, to the present days.
Free entrance.
Its northern front lodges a modest clock.

Edificio ubicado en el barrio gijonés de Cimadevilla
La Torre del Reloj se reedificó en 1989 sobre una antigua torre del siglo XVI. Se concibe como un mirador sobre la ciudad. Su interior alberga una exposición permanente sobre la historia de Gijón, documentada a partir de objetos, planos, fotografías, dibujos y grabados antiguos.
La exposición se desarrolla en seis plantas y representa un recorrido a través de la historia de la ciudad, desde sus orígenes en época prerromana hasta el siglo XX.
Entrada gratuita.
Desde el mirador se puede contemplar una magnifica panorámica de la ciudad.
Su fachada norte alberga un modesto reloj.
