At one point it covered approximately 70 acres in New Haven. It used to be (before 1976) an open burning site in which no one knows what was burned. However EPA investigations in 1982 detected toxic organic chemicals that were observed flowing in a drainage ditch and then into the Maumee River nearby. It is unclear exactly when this site was closed down, but it did happen in the early 80's.

My pictures here show that this site is no longer used as a dump. The area is fenced off and completely overgrown with weeds. Makes you wonder what kind of weeds are growing in there considering the chemicals that were dumped!!
