This outhouse is located at the Roose Homestead next to the cape Alava Hiking Trail. The homestead is located almost a half mile OFF the trail. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS OUTHOUSE UNLESS YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED OUTDOORSMAN. This entire homestead is a virtual cache. I would highly recommend reading the cache page before finding this outhouse. The coordinates are for the cabin itself but you'll easily find the outhouse. As for the outhouse: This outhouse is in pretty good condition for being so old. The homestead here was built in the 1920's. The man who built this homestead was Peter Roose. He lived here most of his life. The place is actually a National Historic Place but is not advertised for fear of vandalism. The outhouse nowadays is, well, not usable. Enjoy!
Location:
This is outhouse is about a half-mile away from the Cape Alava trail. If you go to the end you will find the Cape Alava campground where you can backpack in. This outhouse is in Olympic National Park.
