"Diogo Antonio Feijó (São Paulo -17 of August of 1784 - São Paulo, 10 of November of 1843), also known as Regent Feijó or Padre Feijó, was a priest and Brazilian politician. Considered one of the founders of the Liberal Party. He was a professor of History, Geography and French. In his first political position, he was as councilman in Itu. He was a member of the house of representatives for São Paulo, abandoning the Assembly before the approval of the Constitution. He was adversary politician of another native of São Paulo, Jose Bonifácio de Andrada and Silva. He was general member of the house of representatives for São Paulo (1826 and 1830), senator (1833), minister of Justice (1831-1832) and regent of the Empire (1835-1837)." Wikipedia
