This stone with an incised cross on its front, was placed in the bridge when it was built in the 13th century, it marks the point where the parishes of Walkhampton, Sampford Spiney, Whitchurch and Buckland Monachorum formerly met.
The stone is in the centre of the bridge on the down stream side of the road.
