Most folks that I’ve shown these to believe they were associated with the extensive military training manuvers that were held in central Oregon during World War II. The four wooden laterine boxes each accomodated 8 users and were most likely in tents. They are not in thier original location. This group of laterines is located near Hole-in-the-Ground. When I first found these 30 years ago they were in much better condition.

Most likely these were moved several times during the manuvers and were abandoned here at the end of the training.
