This building is located in the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (popularly known as Star City) near Moscow. Two circular wings contain centrifuges which are used in training to subject Cosmonauts to increased gravitation forces. The larger centrifuge, the TsF-18, is 18 meters long.
The cosmonaut sits in a capsule in the open end of the centrifuge, which spins around in the circular chamber. Tours of Star City include a visit to the large centrifuge chamber.
