The largest one is Berlin, CT with almost 20,000 inhabitants, the smallest one is a township in North Dakota, home to 35 people. P.S.: Counting all European cities, not only capitals, the most commonly named place would be Manchester with 36 hits, but that is not a capital. Besides, counting all the other towns named Berlin in Canada, Brazil, Ecuador, Australia and South Africa and a volcano in Antarctica, the German capital would still be the winner.
