This is the lake on which a long time friend at his cottage in Northern Michigan (near Atlanta, MI). At one time, it was a hot spot for terrific northern pike action with 40"+ fish being pulled out on a regular basis. But times change and local folks wanted to diversify the lake by adding largemouth bass. Now, you have to work hard to find one of the few pike left. The bass can get pretty big, but there's nothing like a pike hitting a surface lure as the sun is coming up!

(If you can't fins this lake on a map, try looking for Speiss Lake. The locals changed the name some time ago and the maps are slow to catch up)
Recommended tackle: Small poppers and spiders if you are flyfishing, floating soft frogs for the lunker bass.

Recommended fishing methods:
Try the steep drop offs along the northern shore of the lake for the best chance of finding a lunker. There's lots of sandy rises that attract sizeable panfish if that is your bag. Either way, try flyfishing for some serious challenges.
