We like to rent the two person Kayak at the Argo Canoe livery, and tack the "two hour trip", to Fuller Park.

This trip takes you through Ann Arbor, but most the time you would never guess you were in a big city. There are Ducks along the way, and it goes alongside of the Nichols Arboretum.
Parking/put-in/launching information: The parking lot is pretty big, but it fills up in the summer.
Paddling conditions to be expected: The Huron river is very shallow and very slow. Most of the time, you will fin yourself having to get out and push once in a while.
Difficulty of the trip: Family and beginners
Length of trip: 2 hours
Portages: 1 short portage when you first start takes you around the Dam.
Permits required: No permits required
Type of trip: We ride the canoe livery shuttle back to our car.
